I honestly don’t know why I do this to myself… every time I think doing BookFunnel’s group book promos is a good idea, I end up feeling like I just walked into the wrong classroom. But alas, I’m in too deep: I must share the February book promos I’m participating in, for better or worse.
If you don’t know what a book promo is, I guess it’s kind of like a virtual expo – a bunch of authors submit their books to be featured on a landing page that’s dedicated to a particular genre or topic, such as “sci-fi romance” or “Kindle Unlimited ebooks.”
As you may be aware, I write sci-fi romance, but… not the kind that most people associate with the genre. I guess sci-fi with romance or romantic sci-fi would be a better moniker, but unfortunately, there is no book promo for that. Thus, I must make do, and “making do” in these cases sounds suspiciously similar to “feel like an idiot.”
But that’s not helping me sell it at all, is it? Or perhaps my irreverence will ignite curiosity, and curiosity, investigation. Perhaps you will go looking for my book just to see it for yourself and find something else on the list that suits your fancy. I really could not care less.
So, without further introduction, here are the February book promos I am part of….
(Note: I will come back and update this post as the others go live. Sorry in advance, you will probably get notifications about this post two more times at least. Yes, I hate it too. This is like anti-blogging.)
Your Next Romantic Escape – February
Okay, I’m not even sure how they let me into this one because apparently it’s for free KU books, but that was nowhere in the criteria and they never told me no so here I am, a fish out of water in more ways than one.
Just a cursory glance at the line up will tell you that I picked the wrong major, but just for shits and giggles, you gotta see this for yourself. It’s freaking hilarious.
This promo runs from now until February 28th. The Last Celestials is the book that I’ve included for this. Snag your next alpha male billionaire romance – er, I mean – cinnamon roll alien prince romance before it’s too late!
SciFi Romance eBook Sale
Once again, I have no idea how I got into this one because it’s for $0.99 or free eBooks and mine is, well, a bank-breaking $2.99.
I would run a $0.99 eBook promo but I can’t figure out how to do that without enrolling in KDP Select, which I can’t/won’t do at this time. Simply changing the price of the eBook seems like a bad idea. If anyone has any insight into how to navigate this, I’m all ears. I was hoping to run a promo later this month anyway.
Anyways, this is another comical, farcical entry in my saga of Book Promos I Never Should Have Joined, so please, enjoy a free laugh on me.
Although… I do find it odd that many of these promos specifically say “no erotica or sexually suggestive book covers” and yet… and yet.
This promo runs from now until the 5th which is an egregiously short turnaround time. Well, at least my shame shall only burn through the weekend. Once again, The Last Celestials is my pick for this promo. Orion is feeling very lost and very confused (and very unwilling to get shirtless).
February’s Featured Fantasy & Sci-Fi
This time, I actually picked the right promotion for the right book… mostly! This fantasy & sci-fi smorgasbord at least has the benefit of making me feel just a little less like a fish out of water… although, I will say that my cover still manages to stand out. This time, I think it may be for the best!
I’ve included my newest release, An Ocean of Stars, both because it fit better and to give poor TLC a break from the limelight! (It’s so overwhelming, you know!)
You should most certainly check it out this time!
This promotion runs until February 28th! Go peruse the selection and keep an eye out for a familiar cover! 😉
