When I started this blog back in… 1898, or whatever year that was, I actually had it in mind to chronicle my journey as an aspiring author. Well, that intention has since gone a little off the rails, but I’ve never stopped writing stories. In fact, I’ve definitely done more of that than I have of blogging. But now I finally have something to show for it, because I’m publishing a book!
Life is a funny thing. I don’t wanna get all mushy, but I’m just extraordinarily thankful that my situation in life has allowed me to flourish as a writer. And I’m super excited to share what I’ve learned and what I’ve accomplished with you, and give you the opportunity (if you so desire) to be an ARC reader!
SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO.
i’m publishing a book, like how?
So what’s this thing about, anyway? Well, let me give you the deets! The title is The Last Celestials, and it is a YA romantic comedy with a sci-fi bent. It’s a stand-alone and is approximately 75,000 words in length. I don’t know how many pages that is yet but I’m to understand it is an average, medium-thickness book. I hope.
the synopsis
Orion and Cassiopeia are the last of their kind: an ancient, powerful race of space-dwelling beings known as Celestials. After losing a terrible war against another, deadlier race, Orion tracks down Cassiopeia in the hopes that she’ll help him save their species. After all, he’s a male, she’s a female… this shouldn’t be quantum physics, right? Wrong!
Cassiopeia, who has been living like a recluse for centuries, wants absolutely nothing to do with Orion. And not just because he has no manners; there are things she doesn’t want him to know, secrets that drove her to self-exile. So she does the only logical thing she can think of: she hides on Earth, thinking Orion will never find her there. Wrong again!
so you wanna be an ARC reader?
If that sounds like something you’d enjoy reading and reviewing, I am currently seeking ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) readers!
As a ARC reader, you will receive a free ebook version of the finished manuscript, and all you are asked to do is read it and leave a (hopefully good) review on Amazon and Goodreads when the book launches.
Drop me a line using my contact form if you’re interested! Use the subject line “ARC reader” and make sure you provide a good email so I can add you to the list!
You can expect to receive an email from BookFunnel in early December, no later than December 15th.
And when does it launch, you ask? You will know the official launch date when you receive your ARC, but as of right now, the prospective date is February 14th, 2022. Valentine’s Day, I know! I did that on purpose, because it is a romance, but also because it’s the day before my birthday, so that’s my gift to myself: a published book!
Nine-year-old me would be crapping her pants right now. And laughing because I used the word “crap.” Well, honey, I don’t know how to tell you this, but your vocabulary only gets worse from here.
Now, if you yourself have a blog and would be happy to post a review on said blog, you are more than welcome to do so following the book’s release. I am also planning on organizing a blog tour so if you’re also interested in that, please let me know.
Once again, here’s the link to my contact form!
Or you can find me on the various social medias and DM me there if you prefer:

This is happening, guys! Part of me still can’t believe I’m publishing a book. If you’ve been around here for a while (and seriously, thank you, as I haven’t the slightest idea what might compel you to stay) I’m excited to be able to share this moment with you! If you’re new or stumbling upon this tiny corner of the internet for the first time, welcome! I’m glad to be able to share this with you, too!
This is so incredibly exciting! Congratulations! And the book sounds super fun too. Can’t wait to read it!!
Thank you, and thanks for wanting to read it! I’ve got you down for an ARC!
Awesome!
Congratulations! That’s wonderful! I’d love to say I’d be an ARC, but I’m afraid I’m just so busy at the moment that all I’m reading (apart from the occasional blog post) is work emails and marketing copy. I really hope it’s a huge success, though. It sounds great!
Your book sounds great! Absolutely going to go and request the ARC!
