Meet the Characters of The Last Celestials

Evidently, my blog is the place to impose my book and its contents upon you, my dear, unsuspecting reader. Welcome to the world of authorpreneurship! Now, get ready to meet the characters of The Last Celestials whether you asked for it or not!

So, I did a series of “meet the characters” or “character mood board” type posts on my Instagram a while back and had every intention of connecting them to a blog article… welp, that worked like a dream. But hey, better late than never, am I right?

I will confess, this poor blog has been quite neglected as of late (a reality I hope to amend in the coming months) but not for lack of trying. There’s just been so much to do, and as anyone who is or has been around an indie author knows, the work never ends!

The good news is, I’ve got some really great stuff in the works that I’m excited to share with you, but all in good time. For now, let’s get straight to the introductions!

But wait a second… what is The Last Celestials again?

Fair question.

The Last Celestials is my debut novel, a light science fiction romance (towing the precarious line between young adult and new adult… usually I call it YA) about two space-dwelling beings, the last of their kind, who don’t exactly see eye to eye.

Actually, here’s the official summary. This will cover it way better:

A defeated general. A jaded princess. A really awkward situation.

Orion and Cassiopeia are the last of their kind: an ancient, powerful race of space-dwelling beings known as Celestials. After losing a terrible war against another, deadlier race, Orion appeals to Cassiopeia, hoping she’ll help him save their species. After all, he’s a male, she’s a female… This shouldn’t be complicated, right? Wrong!

Cassiopeia, who has been living like a recluse for centuries, wants absolutely nothing to do with Orion. And not just because he has no manners; there are things she doesn’t want him to know, secrets that drove her to self-exile. So she does the only logical thing she can think of: She runs away to Earth, where she allies herself with a group of young musicians and adopts their easygoing way of life in order to blend in. It’s the perfect hiding place, right? Wrong!

Little does Cassiopeia know, Orion is way better at tracking than he is at romance… though he may have to become good at both if he wants a second chance.

Not bad, eh? If that sounds like your jam, you can find it here on the website or on Amazon (among other major online retailers).

Of course, there’s more than just our two main characters: there’s a whole cast of quirky young adults and space beings offering varying levels of humor and heart.

The general reader consensus is that the band (our main human friend group) helps bring the story down to Earth (pun intended) and Lidian, Orion’s sentient star friend, is something of a scene-stealer.

You be the judge, but in any case, (and without further ado) here is a brief introduction to each of the characters in The Last Celestials!

The Last Celestials Set List

I keep forgetting to promote this, but since the novel centers around indie music, each chapter is the title of a song that corresponds (more or less) to what’s going on at that point in the book. Naturally, I compiled those songs into a handy Spotify playlist, which I shall share here and now!

(Note: the walk-on songs mentioned in each character bio aren’t part of the playlist, though perhaps they should’ve been!)

Meet the Characters: Justice For Pluto

The fictional band in the book is called “Justice for Pluto” (I know, I am the MASTER of subtlety. Somebody get me a medal.) Here is an introduction to each of the band members!
