Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. You don’t have to tell me. I’m terrible at blogging. In my defense… I’ve been hard at work on The Last Celestials’ sequel. Soon, very soon, I’ll have things to say. I probably stick out like a sore thumb in these things, but hey, it’s worth it for the exposure. I think. If my main characters were sentient and knew what kind of books they were being lumped together with, I imagine their reactions would be as follows:

Captain: What is the function of these, exactly? Who is this for?

Xan: *uncontrollable laughter*

Captain: Why are you laughing? How is this funny?

Xan: It’s funny because we are so not supposed to be here right now.

Captain: Then why are we here?

Xan: Captain, you should take your shirt off more often.

Captain: I beg your pardon?

Xan: God, what a missed opportunity. *dissolves into laughter again*

Captain: It’s times like these I’m truly thankful I was raised in isolation.

Although, I’m certainly not the only one with this characteristic! I recognize Salt by Liz Shipton, a sci-fi dystopian romance, and Travelers by V.S. Holmes looks like a fun sci-fi adventure.

You gotta scroll all the way to the bottom to find them, though, an experience not unlike walking through the risque section of your local Spenser’s to get to the novelty mugs.

I am not being a hater here, by the way! If sci-fi romance in its (let’s say) most literal form is your thing, all power to you. But you look me in the eyes and you tell me you don’t want to giggle at least a little bit. It just is what it is, my dudes.
