Well, well, well. Look at me, jumping on that Amazon Prime Day train. But not to worry, I’m still totally niche and not mainstream, because I’m only covering the best Prime Day deals for readers… a.k.a., only the deals I would be interested in.
Because it’s all about me, obviously!
First off, if you don’t know what Prime Day is… do you live under a rock? Okay, just kidding. I probably wouldn’t know about it either if I wasn’t in the industry. But then again, most of us shop Amazon and many of us have Amazon Prime, so it’s no big secret.
So yeah, it’s basically like a big Black Friday sale for Amazon Prime members that takes place once a year. This year, it’s June 21-22… just a few days away! During the sale, you can expect to find exclusive deals and promotion on tons of products, many of them big ticket items like electronics.
And much like Black Friday, if you’ve had your eye on a particular item for a while and want to get the best deal on it, Prime Day is a good time to check it out.
(Quick disclaimer: this post does contain affiliate links!)
But oh yeah, there is one catch: you do have to be an Amazon Prime member.
If you already are, great! You’re one step ahead. If you’re not, and you haven’t had it before, you get a 30-day free trial and you can cancel anytime! I say, take advantage of it while you can!
And if you already have used your free trial… well, got any other email addresses? Heh heh, gotta love loopholes!
Oh, and don’t forget: students get 50% off for the first six months!
Alright, alright, enough upselling. Let’s dive into those Prime Day 2021 deals (for readers)!
The Best Amazon Prime Day Deals for Readers
20% Off Select Popular Fiction Books
That’s right, folks! Amazon usually offers some kind of promotion in this category, and this one’s a good sale for those who like discount books.
I’ll be totally honest, I didn’t recognize any of the selected books, but here are the ones that looked interesting to me:
The Bette Davis Club by Jane Lotter
A woman’s niece runs away on the day of her wedding, and she’s commissioned to track her down along with the niece’s disgruntled fiance.
The Binder of Lost Stories by Cristina Caboni
A bookbinder finds a letter hidden in an old book, written by another female bookbinder 200 years ago.
Casino Royale by Ian Fleming
Apparently James Bond was a book series before it was a movie franchise? Huh. Fancy that.
Layla by Colleen Hoover
The only author I recognized! If you’re a fan of Colleen Hoover, maybe this is a neat find for you!
Honeysuckle Season by Mary Ellen Taylor
This one just screams “Hallmark movie” to me… but that’s not always a bad thing! This looks like a cute summer read!
Bonus: Get 3 for the Price of 2 on Select Books, Games, and More!
I think this is a separate promotion outside of Prime Day so even if you miss it, check these out anyway!
My picks:
- The Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo (gosh dangit!)
- Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo (all 3 books are on this list, guys!)
- One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus
- The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
- Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
- It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover
- The Outsiders by S.E. Hilton
- The Invisible Life of Addie Larue by V.E. Shwab
- The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman
- The Giver by Lois Lowry
I had to make myself stop because there are seriously so many good books that are part of this promo! Check them all out!!!

Other Products
For small businesses, there’s a promo going on right now: if you spend $10 before Prime Day, you get $10 off DURING Prime Day! Noice!
Keep an eye on these come Prime Day!
Great for eReaders or if you read on your phone/computer a lot!
Well, don’t you wanna be comfy?
Get Them Deals!
So there you go, the best Prime Day deals for readers (that I can find)!
Keep in mind, this is by no means an exhaustive list, just the things I’ve seen as I’ve perused their deals! It’s such a quick turnaround on a sale like this, it’s hard to keep things updated, but if I see anything else good before Prime Day I’ll be sure to add it in! Hopefully all you readers out there find these helpful and get some good deals on books and stuff!
Oh, and… a lot of other retailers do sales around this time too, to compete with Amazon. So if you see any or know of any, feel free to share!
